With ten years of experience teaching composition I offer composition tutoring and workshops for secondary, tertiary, and adult students. My teaching philosophy centers on inspiring and enabling students to create with intention through accessible and easily differentiated activities. I believe that providing space for experimentation, encouraging practice outside the pressures of assessment tasks, and developing personalized routines are essential for achieving success in composition. I taught composition at Meriden School from 2016 to 2023 and in this time we had frequent Encore nominations and selections for Music 2 and Music 1. I’m currently a casual academic tutoring composition at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Options include individual lessons (via Zoom or in person) and workshops tailored to Year 12 students preparing for HSC submission. Workshops can take the form of interactive lectures, small group sessions, or individual check-ins, all designed to develop creative confidence and compositional skill. I also consult for primary teachers, helping them design engaging composition activities for Stage 3 students.
